The other day we went to the Historic Zoar Village (pron. like soar/oar/boar with a z at the front). Zoar, OH was founded in 1817 by a group of religious refugees from Germany. Biblically, Zoar was one of 5 cities of the plain slated for destruction in the book of Genesis. The other 4 cities were Sodom, Gomorrah, Zeboim, and Admah. Lot plead to God to keep Zoar as a place of refuge for Lot and his two daughters. It’s easy to see why Zoar, OH received this name.

We use a program called Harvest Hosts for some of our overnights in between destinations. Harvest Hosting is free to stay, but there is a recommended minimum spend at the place you’re staying (currently $30).

Today marks the 13th anniversary of our first date. Who knew that we would be together all these years later (except maybe me???)? Well let’s give the folks some memories of our time together…

We’ve been here many times when we’re in the Northern Indiana area. Last time we were there we learned they had done away with their excellently cooked tater-tots. Kate was very unhappy to learn this. We’ll still go back though, they have good drinks and smash burgers. Highly recommend giving them a try if you’re in the area.

Had a nice few days in Bowling Green Kentucky. With one of us feeling a bit under the weather and the other having to work a bit extra, it was difficult for us to do much in the 3 day stay, but we still found a few murals and learned a bit about the history of the town. We also got to experience the northern lights (which is certainly rare being this far south!).

We made it to Florida Caverns State Park last week. Super neat place to explore. We took the cavern tour, walked the Beech Magnolia Trail, and went to Blue Hole Spring.

We spent the last few days at Three Rivers State Park in Sneads, Florida. The park had 31 campsites and is on Lake Seminole. It’s quiet and you can bring your boat to go fishing.
